Rheoptima X58 is a vegetable derived polymer used to create thermo-reversible gels of organics with mid-range polarity. It is supplied in pastille form and is made by the reaction of functional amines and diacids terminated with various end groups. It gels liquid by forming a three-dimensional structure via hydrogen bonding between the amide groups.
